Imagine a 1908 3-story Victorian home with horse barn, hayloft, and gardener’s quarters. Imagine how much stuff a family could accumulate and store in all that space over the course of 100 years. That was what I was faced with when it became necessary to place my 93-year-old mother in a nursing facility: sorting through and disposing of 5 generations of “treasures.” It was so overwhelming; I didn’t know where to begin. Fortunately, a friend recommended Rick Hudson of Hudson’s Gallery in Oakland and he knew exactly how to deal with it in an efficient and profitable manner.
Communication was terrific from the very beginning. Rick laid out a plan of action that ranged from how he would sort through boxes, trunks, closets and cubbyholes, sell “treasures,” and leave both house and barn broom-clean. Rick did everything he said he was going to do, in the amount of time he said he was going to do it. Rick and his partner, Bear, were reliable, knowledgeable, organized, professional and fun.
I didn’t know services like this existed, but thank goodness they do. Otherwise, I’d still be poking around the attic, basement and hayloft, trying to figure out what to do and how to do it … and wondering if it could be done in my lifetime.
I highly recommend Rick Hudson of Hudson’s Gallery to anyone who needs to liquidate an estate.

Dear Rick,
I’m thinking back over the last few months of 2008 in dealing with my mothers death and the disposition of her estate, you Rick, have been one of the few individual standouts of the experience. Without the help of you and your experienced staff with the estate sale and your particularly caring yet practical ways, I absolutely wouldn’t have been able to get the house ready for sale so quickly.
Best personal regards and Thank You!!

Rick,
Thanks for everything – and keep me posted with the settee – I'll tell anyone who wants to listen how helpful and pleased I have been with you and your work. I hope they call you when they’re ready!! Take care,
Pat

I know that we're supposed to give three references, but I have been using one family for a long time. I started out years ago with Les Hudson's Foothill Auction Gallery and Les Hudson has since past away. His grandson Rick Hudson, who cut his teeth on the business, runs a different sort of business that is more modern, and is very competent. He can handle all types of items at his own gallery and warehouse. He will even leave the property "broom clean." He is a business man and is very direct about how he will conduct business for you. I like working with him and I trust him, which is more important. He has sold many estates for properties left to the Regents in the past as well, so he is very aware of our requirements. I am happy to refer Rick Hudson.
Karen.
Hi Rick, Thank you so much for taking care of all that 'stuff.' What a job! Watching how organized you and the crew were was a pleasure.
Your company will be on 'my referral list.' People are always telling others, ask Marilyn, she will tell you where to go, etc.
